First off, Happy Valentine’s Day, blog readers!

February 13- April 19
Catch “All Shook Up: Thomas Kellner Photographs” at the Boston Athanaeum. The exhibit features the artist’s views on the Athanaeum where he celebrates the building’s interior space by focusing on its symmetry and architecture.

Thursday, February 14 (7:30 - 9:30 pm)
Grab your sweetie and head over to Soni Yoga for a night of Valentine’s Day Partner-Yoga. Relax in the candlelit studio along with some light refreshments.

February 15, 16, 17
Join The Handel and Haydn Society for a performance of Mozart’s Requiem at Boston Pops Symphony Hall.

Sunday, February 17 (10 am- 6 pm)
Celebrate with the Chinese New Year Parade on Beach Street with dragons, firecrackers, and some delicious Dim Sum!

Head over to the Harvard Museum of Natural History with your sweetie this Valentine’s Day for a fantastic lecture.

Richard Wrangham will be offering a lecture entitled “Why We Cook: Food and Pairbonds in Human Evolution,” at 6 pm on Thursday, February 14 focusing on the role that cooked food has played in human evolution and bonding. The lecture is free and open to the public at 24 Oxford Street in the Geological Lecture Hall.

After the lecture, you can put your newfound knowledge to work and make a delicious meal together!

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater

Celebrate Black History Month with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater from February 7-10 at the Citi Performing Arts Center.

Founded in 1958 in New York City, this dance troupe has been called “the worlds most successful modern dance company.” Since its introduction at the 92nd Street Young Men’s Hebrew Association, it has changed the perception of modern dance along with promoting the African-American cultural experience.

This weekend includes the world premiere of The Groove to Nobody’s Business, the company premiere of Firebird, a new production of Reflections in D, along with many other amazing performances.

Friday, February 8 (6 pm)
Catch the opening of the photography exhibit Alone Together: Beneath the Streets of Boston. The exhibit is the joint work of father-and-son photographers B.D. and Ben Cohen and focuses on their underground commute.

Saturday, February 9 (11 am)
Head over to the Harvard Coop bookstore for Valentine Story Hour with the kids. After storytime, Winnie the Pooh will be stopping in for a visit!

Saturday, February 9 (11 am - 3 pm)
Pick up something special for your sweetheart at The Be Mine Valentine Craft Show at the Alchemist Lounge. This event is brought to the public by Boston Handmade, a group of local indie crafters who sell their wares on Etsy.com.

Sunday, February 10 (10 am)
Treat yourself to something relaxing during Healthworks Indulge Week! The fitness center is offering deals on spa services for both members and non-members at their 5 Boston locations. This event runs through February 16th.
