Since there’s so much to do in the city this month, here’s a holiday show roundup so you can see what’s playing and make the most out of the season!

November 23 - December 23
Returning after a hit run in 2005, Irving Berlin’s White Christmas is back at the Wang Theatre at the Citi Performing Arts Center. Hear beloved hits like “Blue Skies” and “How Deep is the Ocean?” and make this show a new holiday tradition.

November 29 - December 29
Boston Ballet presents their 40th year of The Nutcracker at the magnificent Opera House. Pop in to the special “kids only” page on their website for before and after the show fun.

November 30 - December 16
In its 38th year, the Black Nativity, based on the Gospel of Saint Luke and the poetry of Langston Hughes, returns to the Tremont Temple. Boston’s performance is the longest running production of Hughes’ song-play in the world, with over 160 singers, actors, dancers, and musicians.

December 9, 16, and 21
Experience the angelic sounds of the Boston Boy Choir at their 45th Anniversary Carol Festival. Held at Saint Paul’s Church in Harvard Square, this concert is sure to be an inspiring addition to your holiday calendar.

December 10 -27
Check out the beloved Boston tradition of the Holiday Pops. In the spectacular Symphony Hall, make it a family event for all to share during this holiday season.

All of these events are great ideas, but the Holiday Pops hold a special places in my heart. I’ve watched them on PBS every year for a long time, and last year, I took my boyfriend to one of their concerts after Christmas to hear Jane Monheit sing. Another couple got engaged during a particularly romantic song and Keith Lockhart pulled them up on stage to congratulate them - soo cute!!
