Harvard Museum of Natural History

Included general admission with the Go Boston Card
The Harvard Museum of Natural History’s collection of Glass Flowers is the only one of its kind in the world. Between 1886 and 1936, German father-son glass artisans Leopold and Rudolf Blaschka produced exquisite, breathtakingly lifelike models of over 3,000 plants to be used for teaching botany. This world-famous ‘garden’ is just one gallery of many at the Harvard Museum of Natural History. Explore 12,000 specimens from around the world, including dinosaurs, hundreds of animals, huge whale skeletons, amazing insects, and butterflies. Get close to one of the first Triceratops ever discovered and see the world’s only mounted Kronosaurus, a 42 ft-long prehistoric marine reptile. Touch meteorites from outer space and find thousands of minerals and gems, including a 1,642-lb amethyst geode. A new exhibit, Sea Creatures in Glass (on display until January 4, 2009) features Harvard’s Blaschka glass animals. Includes admission to the adjacent Peabody Museum – archaeology and cultures of six continents.
